Do you ever just have days or weeks that go by where you are busy doing nothing at all? That's how I feel our last few weeks have gone. We've just been busy with odds and ends things that have tied up our time, but it's nothing big. I've told so many people lately that it seems like our lives go in cycles like that. We will have weeks and sometimes months where we are hardly busy and then out of no where we are just on the go. We have had something every weekend for the last 3 or 4 weeks. And the week days aren't much better. If it's not Dr.'s appointments, it's dinner plans, if it's not dinner it's errands that need run. This weekend it happens to be my Dad's birthday. So tomorrow we are headed up to his place in Southington. I am looking forward to going up and just spending the day relaxing out back on the deck while Camden plays. My Dad is all excited to hook up his homemade wagon to his tractor so he can pull Camden around the yard. I'm sure they both will love that.
My Dad's birthday is the first of many this month. Actually my niece Kirsten had her 14th birthday on the 3rd of June but she won't be home to visit her dad until the end of this month. We usually celebrate when she comes home. So for those who are here in Ohio, Dad kicks it off. I still have my brothers on the 20th, my nephew's on the 23rd, and my sister's on the 27th. If my Grandma were still alive her birthday was on the 5th and she would have been 107. Yeah and that's my Grandma not my great-grandma. My Dad was the youngest of 10 kids. My grandparents were born in the 1800's. My Grandpa was born in 1885 (I believe). Grandma was born in 1899. I can't remember if there was 14 or 15 years difference between them, that's why I'm unsure of Grandpa's birth year. I wish I would have had the chance to know them better. I never knew Grandpa, but I was 6 when Grandma passed away. I would have loved to hear all about her stories of growing up and seeing some of the greatest things in life take place.
OK, so never intended to get off on that rabbit trail. Well, I've got a little guy asking mommy ever so nicely to put his video on for him. How could I turn down such a sweet boy?!! So I'm off for now. 'Til later.
