Oh how the years go by...

I looked at his face. So soft and smooth. His hand was reached out and laying on mine. His eyes were closed softly and his breathing was slow and calm. I kiss is cool cheek and wonder where they years have gone. My baby. My little baby boy is not my baby any more. His little tiny fingers that once wrapped around my finger now can intertwine with mine. His once tiny little feet are now going to carry him off to school this fall. His once small lips could barely hold a paci and now they speak words that astound me.

I know these moments, as I hold my sleeping boy, will pass as quickly as they come. I know there will be a day when I am no longer looking down to him but up. There will be a day that I will dance with him and he looks down at me. I know there will be the day when I will give him to another woman, whom I will trust to take care of him. And there will be the day when he has his own little babes to hold and cherish, just I have with him.

Until then, I will soak up every moment with him. I will take the time to remember these rare moments where he want to be held by me. I will do my best to remember the words he says to me that make me wonder how I was every worthy to be blessed with his presence in my life. I love you my little man.
