It was a lovely weekend for myself and my family. We enjoyed the company of one another and our extended family. Most of our happenings began on Friday. My sweet husband and I went to dinner Friday night with a couple of friends of ours whom we haven't seen in awhile. It was a nice evening just as adults, something we do not do very often. Saturday we decided to stay home and just spend the evening together as a family. We watched a family movie and Mike began preparations for Sunday.
I want say what an amazing husband I have. Despite what others may argue, my husband is a good cook. He cooked a roast, homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and Italian bread. It was a lot of hard work for him and knowing that he has been working six day, it meant more to me than any other Mother's Day gift. I know that it was a lot of work and I was not permitted to help. He provided a very nice dinner for myself, my mother and father-in-law, and Kimmy and Kevin as well. But it didn't matter that it turned out good, what mattered was the fact that he put the time and effort into it. I told him last night that even if the food didn't turn out that I would still feel the same. Matters of the heart mean the world to me and this Mother's Day gift was defiantly from the heart. I also received a beautiful card from my hubby and son that made me cry. It's so nice to know that work I do as a Mommy hasn't been unnoticed. But what I want to say is I love you Sweetie! You are the most amazing husband and I could not have asked for a better man to spend my life with. Even though this past weekend was spent in honor of motherhood, I want to honor you as my hubby, my best friend, and the father of our children. You deserve all the credit for what you do to support this family and I thank you once again for a lovely Mother's Day. I love you.
