Out Numbered 4-1

I feel like I am so behind in my blogging. My laptop is still not working right. The power cord is messed up and I need to order a new one. Without my laptop I am not online near as much. Therefore I am having to find time to sit out our computer that is upstairs in our room. Let me tell you, it is hard to find time with a preschooler and an infant to have time to sit a desk, even for just 5 minutes.

So here I sit at 12:11 a.m. As I titled this post, I have been out-numbered and can not currently get into bed. My husband, son, and dog are all laying in bed. Camden was in the middle but has made his way to my pillow. Merci is in her bassinet, but is the kind where the side is down so it is as if the baby is right there in bed. As of now, there is no room for me to squeeze in. This is unusual because Camden never sleeps in our room. And there was no real reason, I just let him come in our room and here he has stayed. We shall see if this is where he'll stay all night.

Not too much has been going on. This past weekend I attened the ladies Advent dinner at church. I helped my best friend Tammy the night before. The dinner takes place in the Family Life Center as well as class rooms and a room called the Great Room which is used for such events as this. 1,100 women attened the dinner and there was a waiting list in case there ended up being extra room or cancellations. Several tables are set up and are decorated with different themes. It was beautiful. I took pictures but of course they are on the laptop. I'll maybe post them another time. After the dinner there was a speaker and special guest singer, Kathy Trocolli. It was a nice evening.

We took the kids to see Santa at the Columbiana Library on Tuesday. Camden actually sat on Santa's lap this year and didn't cry. Though we do not do the whole "Santa brought your presents" thing, we will tell him the real story of Saint Nicholas. The emphasis will be put on Jesus' birth. But I want it to also be fun for my kids and we plan to teach them that Santa is just pretend and it's something fun to play at Christmas. I know for many of my Christian friends, this subject is a struggle. It seems the are split down the middle. Some not doing Santa at all and others going all out because they do not want to offend the rest of their family who want to do the Santa thing. I want to find a happy medium. But again, our emphasis will be on Jesus' birth which is why we even celebrate this time of year.

Well, I think I have rambled quite enough. I should be going to feed my littlest one so I too can squeeze into bed. I hope to post again soon. Have a great weekend all.
