Still on the mend

I have been feeling so much better since getting on the antibiotic for my sinus infection. But the biggest irritant has been a lingering sore throat. My glands are not swollen, Mike says my throat isn't even red. I just have so much sinus stuff still going on that I think it's just a result of that. Anyone else who's had this "cold" have a lingering sore throat? Ugh.

Otherwise, we are hanging in there. We've been outside lots, enjoying the beautiful days we've been having. You can see some pics of the kids that I have taken here. We've taken a few walks, played lots with chalk and bubbles, and even spent lots of time with the kids cousins.

Speaking of, my niece Kirstin attended prom this weekend in her hometown in Indiana with her boyfriend James. She looks so beautiful, too beautiful to be compaired to me! The poor girl is always told she looks just like me. Honestly, she does remind me a lot of myself at her age. I hadn't seen her in awhile and this past Christmas when I saw her it was kind of like looking at myself at that age. Poor girl! Doesn't she look beautiful?!!

I feel so old! When she was only about 18 months old my brother had her and her brother here for a visit. We had stopped by the McDonald's in Columbiana and I had carried her in. As she and I walked past this family sitting enjoying their dinner, I overheard the mother say "Boy that little girl looks just like her mommy." I was so freaked out because I was only about her age now (15). I can't believe she is old enough to be going to prom!

My other niece, Bethany, got the honor of being in the Salem High School's production of The Wizard of Oz. She just turned 10 and so it was a big deal that she tried out and made it for a high school production. Unfortunately due to all the colds we've been struggling to get over I missed getting to go see her, but my sister was sure to send us pics.

They were so very specific about their costumes and they had to have them handmade. I thought that was pretty crazy! I was part of the "Lollipop Guild" when I was in Jr. High as part of Columbiana High School's production of the same play and the only thing I had to buy was my socks! My sister had to pay over $35.00 for her costume to be made and also had to find someone to make it. I think that is crazy. Nonetheless, she looked adorable from what I can see.

Well, I'm gonna turn in for the night. Be sure to check out the kids link above to see lots of pics. Have a great weekend everyone. TTFN

Wow, she does look just like you. I remember you at that age, and she could seriously be your twin. That's crazy!
