This year Thanksgiving was just a bit different. My in-law side of the family decided to go out to a local family owned restaurant for dinner. Though it was nice for everyone to have a break from cooking (especially the one who has to do the turkey and gravy...) I think we all sort of agreed next year we would like to go back to having a REAL dinner. Nothing says Thanksgiving like yellow gravy and perfumed flavored coconut cream pie.

After dinner we headed back to our house for some time of visiting, corn hole playing, and REAL pie! Auntie, Kimmy, and I made a variety of pies that stuffed us all! Definately far better than the pie we had eaten earlier in the day! Uncle Frank was even able to help me get a small fire going in our fire pit outside. The weather was in the low 50's and perfect. I don't think the day could have been more relaxing in my opinion. ;)
Today we will be heading to my sister's for dinner with my side of the family. I have a plethora of mixed emotions. Due to family issues, my family has been a bit divided. Certain family members unfortunately tend to make issues where there are none. I want to be able to enjoy the holidays, to agree to disagree and put our differences aside. This is not so easily done on my side of the family. My honest prayer for today is that it can be done. I am praying for a peaceful day of fellowship and not tension.

The monkeys and I decorated for Christmas on Friday. Usually we wait until Saturday but they could not wait. So up went the tree and all of my various decorations. I decided this year to put our tree in front of our front door. An unconventional place to put it, I know, but we do not use that door 90% of the time. So it seemed like the perfect open space. I honestly love it there. It is the first thing you when you walk into our living room.

I am happy that I have even gotten a few Christmas gifts bought! This a great start for me!! Hehe! I'm excited for the holiday to come!
Well I need to scoot off here and start getting things ready for later. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and until next time...TTFN.
