I did it again! And again! I was doing so good too! I have tried so hard to get all of my posts in this month but I have failed the past two day! Grrr! I'm still happy that I've been able to keep up as much as I have and I fully intend on finishing out the month!
There were two main reasons for missing the past couple of days of posting. Mostly was the horrendous headache I had for two days. It started late Saturday night (after putting in a full day and overdoing it trying to get our house ready for the holiday). All day Sunday it teetered on becoming a migraine. I felt awful and barely made it through the day. Also, in between feeling icky I was just simply busy. Saturday was crazy. The day started with us getting up bright and early in order to get to the library in time to be in our Christmas parade. This was a first for both the kiddos and myself. Our float won best float (not too sure why...just sayin) and the kids were so excited! You would never know from the this photo, that I took on my phone, that they were excited for DAYS to be apart of the parade. Once the parade started, myself and another staff member passed out flyers with upcoming library events. I could not get the flyers out fast enough and at one got separated from our float. I was about 6 floats back and had to run to catch up. I do mean run. I felt it in my legs the next day. HA!
Just a few pics of the "float" and parade.
I was going to take the kiddos for a ride on this but they wanted to go to McDonald's and get Happy Meals instead. Go figure. They did however get cotton candy from one of the street vendors.
It was a fun experience and would love to do it again next year. After all of the parade fun myself, the kids, my sister, and my nephew all grabbed lunch and headed back to our house. My sister so wonderfully offered to help organize and get things ready for all the upcoming holiday celebrations. We rearranged furniture, went through tubs and tubs of things our other sister gave us, cleaned, and simply enjoyed each others company. It was a pleasant day but I defiantly over did. I hurt so bad Sunday (on top of having the awful headache). So I best pace myself a little better the rest of this week.
It's crazy to me to see all the Christmas stuff up all through town. Even after going to all the festivities it hasn't sunk in that it's the holiday season. I have been trying to get into the holiday spirit by listening to Christmas music. I try every year to not listen until Thanksgiving but I couldn't help it this year. I broke down about a week ago in hopes to make it sink in. I'm getting there. We've gotten a good jump start on Christmas shopping. We've got the kids big gifts purchased and hidden. I still have a few things left for them and then family shopping to do. This weekend we will start decorating for Christmas. Usually we do it on the Saturday after Thanksgiving but I think we may do it on Friday since I have to work Saturday evening. Too much work to try to get done before going to work. I am even thinking about breaking down and getting our pencil tree out and putting up today. We'll see. :)
I do, however, need to finish up a few things downstairs today. It looks really nice and I'm going to be so glad to see it all put together. The tables are up and covered, chairs are set, and place settings just about ready. It's going to be great. But I best get off the computer and get to work.
Have a fabulous day friends...TTFN.
