I love the sound of nothing. There used to be a time in my life where I always had to have noise...i.e. music, TV, people talking. Now, when it is quite, I soak it in. Both of my children are asleep and the only sound is the birds chirping outside and the quite hum of Merci's monitor. OK, it's not complete silence, but I'll take it.
Spoke to my sister Deb in Florida earlier this afternoon. Just keeping in touch about our trip next month. Can you believe it is $65 for each extra bag you bring? And if you have an infant, they do not include their luggage. So, I can take two pieces of luggage, one carry-on, and a purse or diaper bag. So, some how I'm gonna have to cram all my clothes and Merci's into one piece of luggage, then have the playpen be my second piece of luggage. The woman I spoke to said I could check her car seat at the gate and then just wait after we arrive for it at the gate in Tampa, that way I would not have to check it as an extra piece. I guess that's what we'll have to do because there's no way I'm paying $65 to check her car seat as extra. If we can find someone down in Florida that they know who has a playpen we can use, that would help greatly! I hope that we can so that at least I can bring one more piece of luggage. You know you always come back with a little more and just to be sure I have enough room for all the little stuff you need when you have little one. There is so much that you have to think about any more when you fly and it's twice as much when you are traveling with an infant. Got any tips for me, Adrienne? :0)
My mind can't stop thinking about this trip and the fact that summer is starting. I've been busy this week almost every day. I've been trying to get some things organized around the house in between all the running we've been doing. Mike is going to be off June 1st through the 6th and I hope to get a lot more organized then. We have this great big basement, though it is not a finished basement it is very dry and clean. We have a couch, chair, and TV down there along with a bunch of toys of Camden's. We are never down there though. Our main reason for not making it more of a family room is simply because it needs to be organized better and we need to find a carpet remnant cheap enough to put down. The floor is cement and I'm not going to have the kids down there on that. So, our plans are to work on that while he is off. I hope to get it done.
Well, we are going to some friends tonight for a BBQ and I said I'd make no-bake cookies (something my friends has been hinting about, haha). So I need to go get those made up and maybe I can do so before the lil' ones wake up. Have a great Memorial Day weekend and let's all remember why we celebrate that day. TTFN

Hey -- can your sister find a playpen or any of the stuff y'all need to borrow? For our upcoming DC trip, my sis has borrowed a car seat and a crib from other moms at church or her daughter's school. It was a huge relief, because I really wanted to bring our stroller (it's a great stroller!) and I wouldn't be able to manage everything otherwise.
Also, it helps to plan a Wal-Mart trip to get more diapers, wipes, all those bulky items, on the same day you're there. The thing I'm worried about it what kind of liquid I can bring on the plane, with the new rules and all. Only like, 3 or 4 oz. of milk/formula, etc. Fortunately Verity's old enough to drink grown-up stuff, but still, I want to have something for her if we're stuck during takeoff.
Silence is wonderful, isn't it? I'm enjoying one of the few silent moments this week. Well, silent except for the rain forest sounds outside the sunroom.
I am so glad you can go to the wedding. When you told me you couldn't go when we met at panera's I began praying about that real quick. Yeah!!! :-) I hope you can get packing details completed so that they are nonstressful and easy for you.
Have a nice day.
