Latest Update and Weekend Run Down

It is so hard to believe we are starting a new week! What's even harder to believe is that we are in the last week of October! This year is quickly coming to an end.

We had a great, but busy weekend. We were gone most of the time. I would say were gone more than we were home. Being that busy has both it's upside and downside. But it really was a good weekend.

Friday was Camden's birthday. Unfortunately he was not feel real well. He was fighting a little cold but it was enough to bring him down. We had his 5 year check-up in the morning followed by a surprise play-date/lunch with a couple of his friends. Even during the wait he mentioned he wanted to go home and take a nap. He didn't even think he had it in himself to wait for his friends to arrive. Once they did, he perked right up. In the evening while Camden stayed home with his cousins, Mike and I went to our friends Adam & Val's house. We had a great visit and feel so very blessed that God has brought them into our lives. We have many thing in common and have children around the same age. It is through our current circumstances that we met Adam & Val. It amazes me how God knows our needs, even relational needs. They have quickly become good friends of ours.

Saturday was a C.R.A.Z.Y. day! Kimmy and I had plans to attend a baby shower at 2:00. So most of the morning I was getting the kids ready to stay with their Aunt Anita and cousins. I got myself together and Kimmy picked me up at 1:45. We attended the cute baby shower for Rainbow, a friend that has helped our family a lot this past year. It was a nice shower with really good broccoli cheese soup in bread bowls. YUM! Kimmy and I both won a center piece which happen to be a nice bunch of purple mums. Then Kimmy's name was drawn for the largest bunch of white mums as the big door prize. You should have seen us walking out of the shower with our arms full of flowers! It was pretty funny. After the shower we had plans to attend our church's ladies night which was a night of southern food and a movie. Neither of us had time to make anything so we made a quick stop for something southern. Kimmy settled on Country Time Lemonade and Southern Comfort Non-Alcoholic Vanilla Eggnog. I on the other hand settled for a Pecan Pie and a gallon of Sweet Tea. I think under the circumstances we did well. Kimmy dropped me off for a whole half an hour were I freshened up and then headed out to pick Kimmy, Auntie, and Bethany up. I told you, crazy!
What was even more crazy was finding Debbie's house for the ladies gathering. We drove up and down about 6 times trying to figure out which house was hers. Kimmy even knocked on the door that we thought was hers, to not have anyone answer. So we turned around yet again and called another one of our gal pals for help. She too was driving up and down trying to find the right place. We all pulled back into the house we had Kimmy knock at and it was the right house. For some reason Debbie did not hear Kimmy's knock. It was quite funny. We had a great night with good food, a good movie, and good conversation. I really do love those ladies!

Sunday, *ehem*...we slept in. I know, I know. We are such heathens! I am to blame. I heard the alarm go off but I reached up and turned it off. And without any thought I closed my eyes and fell right back to sleep. Nobody in our family woke up until after 10! I guess we needed the rest, right?! ;)
We spent much of the day resting and catching up on odds and ends. Late in the afternoon we had to get the kids right to have them in Columbiana to my friend Stef's by 6:30. Mike and I had plans to attend a meeting about an arts group that is being formed. More about that later. Any-whoo...so we got the kids, got them a quick dinner, and dropped them off to Stef. We then attended our meeting, came back for the kids at 10:00, stopped quickly for gas and milk, and did not get home until 10:45. Needless to say the kids crashed and slept until almost 11:00 today! That NEVER happens!

Today was/is laundry day. I still have one last load to get done and I hope to have it in the dryer before long.

Wow! That took up more than I expected. Maybe I should break this up into two posts! Nah!

HOUSE UPDATE:

I spoke to Mandy today about the move out/in date. She and her husband Ed will be moving out the weekend of November 14, 15, & 16. She has told me that we will be able to have the keys that week to move in right away! I am so stoked about having an actual date set. We've had tentative plans until now. Mike is off the weekend they are moving out but he informed me that he has taken the following weekend off as well. So it is set. We will be officially moving the weekend of the 22nd & 23rd. We will likely have have the keys days before then, but I will be spending much of that time cleaning and readying the house. The excitement just can not be contained! I will be sure post lots of pictures once I can.

Speaking of pictures...I made my favorite pasta dish tonight. It has no name, because I just made it up. I created it years ago and it has been one of Mike and I's favorite dinners ever since. Hmmm! It was good! It was not as good has it has been in the past, but for not cooking in my own kitchen, I think I pulled if off pretty well!

Well, this turned out to be a much longer post than I had anticipated. I think I will save the info about our arts group for another post, another time. Instead, I think I'm going to have a cup of tea and snuggle up with my sweetie under my favorite blanket and watch my Monday night shows.

Until next time...TTFN.
