Lazy

That is how I have felt the entire day today! Just plain lazy. We didn't make it to church after a very late night for the kids and my pulling my back out. I lifted some tots (heavy with baby clothes...more on that later)last night and carried them quite a distance. I didn't feel it at first but by the time I was ready to settle in for the night I was hurting pretty bad. I've been taking it easy today, hence the laziness.

I can not believe we are about to start another new week! Is anyone else as surprised as I am that this is the last week of January? Wasn't it just Thanksgiving? Any way, I digress.

I received my Pay-It Forward that I won over at Tollesons4Him! I was so excited because I just love getting "real" mail. I love personal cards and packages. I was even more excited when I opened the package to find two items from Bath & Body Works. I LOVE that store! It has been forever since I've made it to the mall and haven't been able to pick up any of the soaps and bath items that I love so much. It was a wonderful gift! Thank you so much again LeAnn!
*Sorry for the quality of the photo. I wanted to make sure I took a picture and the battery in my camera was dead. I had to take this on my phone. ;)

We didn't have anything too exciting happen this week. My wonderful hubby was off Sunday through Thursday. We took the time to catch up on things around the house and spend quality time together. We had our dear friends Adam and Val over one afternoon for a visit. We always enjoy their company and I love that their kids and our kids all play so well together! We also had our other dear friends, Steve and Stef over on Wednesday for some pizza and American Idol! We ended up pulling out our friends ROCKBAND that we still happen to have (sorry Connie, we do need to get that back to you). We rocked out for about 2 hours. I had to laugh because I'm so competitive against my husband. The competitive behavior is never towards anyone else, just by hubby. I think it's because he's good at everything he picks up. BUT, I totally killed him on Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive! I sang as he played bass, Steve was on guitar, and Stef on drums. I got a 100% on the vocals! Yea baby! Then when on bass I rocked out at 92%. He was determined to beat me. He did beat my bass score by 1 point! But then I rocked it on lead, on the medium setting, getting a 94% (I think). It was so funny. We had such a good time and we feel so thankful for so many great, tried and true friendships.

I was able to sneak out a couple times this week to visit with some friends. I love that my husband encourages me to spend time with my friends, to have time to myself, and to have "down-time". Though I know he doesn't always have it in himself to give that time to me like I know he would like to, when he does, he's very generous. I was able to enjoy a nice lunch and coffee with two wonderful ladies. I loved that we had good conversation and before I knew it I had been there for 3 hours! Good time!

Last night I had the opportunity to reach out to a young friend of mine. She is a young single mom who is expecting twins and already has an almost two year old. This young woman is making the best of a yucky situation. I admire her determination. I've been corresponding with her by way of Facebook for quite sometime. I've known her, her entire life. She is friends with my niece who is like a little sister to me. So, when I heard of her situation I asked if there was anything that she needed. Who wouldn't have something they need in that situation?! So, I finally had the opportunity to take those tots of clothes and miscellaneous baby items over to her last night. Come to find out we live with-in walking distance of each other. We ended up spending 4 hours catching up. My heart just goes out to her and I hope that in some way I can be there for her.

That just about sums up our week. It was a nice week that just went by too quickly. I love that my husband has 3 weeks of vacation every year. He always seems to work it out so that he really only ends up using a couple of his vacation days at a time but ends up with several days off in a row. For example this past week, he was already off Sunday as he always is and his scheduled day off was Thursday. So he took Tuesday-Thursday off with vacation time. That meant he only used three days of his vacation time but ended up with five days off in a row. And the funny thing is he didn't even tell me he was going to be off until the Friday before! That sneak! He likes surprising the kids and I like that.

And speaking of my hubby, I just have to say how much I love him. Today was just another reminder of why I adore him. I watched as he danced around the kitchen with Merci in his arms. They floated across the floor and she just smiled at him with such love for her Daddy. Then he got out their construction paper and crayons and sat with them as they did craft time together. Then, he pulled a game out of the closet and sat with them at the table and played. It seems like such simple gesture but it was huge. Struggling with narcolepsy (you can read more about it here) has had it's toll on all of us. That is why moments like these seem so grand. I know how hard it is for him some days just to get himself to work. I love him. I know that he tries, harder some days then others, but he tries and I just want him to know how much I love him! ;)

Before I close I close I'll leave you with a little info about me. I read about this on Heidi's blog over at Sacred and Profane. Here are my results...

Your Word is "Love"

You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.

Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.

And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

Time to get these kiddos of mine to bed for the night. Have a great week everyone. Until next time...TTFN.

I never seem to know what my answer is. I was torn between Fearless and Why...I think I don't know who I am!

Sounds like a good week! I wish we were able to make ourselves have more time like that.
