What what a long weekend. This weekend was the wedding of our friends who asked me to do their wedding pictures. Though I was grateful for the opportunity to work on a larger wedding than I have in the past, the job was quite tiresome. Between the rehearsal on Friday and the actual wedding on Saturday I estimated about 9-10 hours of photography work. That is just hours put in at the church. I loved it though!

There were definite drawbacks to doing a wedding of someone you know. Mainly the time issue. It was very difficult to eat and socialize when you are the photographer. I never realized how much of the photographers time is demanded before, during, and after the wedding. I know that there is a lot that goes into it, but boy I never expected to be pulled in about five different directions all at once. I even had one of the sisters of the groom ask if I could take pictures of her three children (which were apart of the ceremony) for Christmas presents for the Grandparents. I was not expecting to be approached about a family portrait! She said she would pay me so who was I to not take her up on the offer!

The day flew by and by the end of the night I was exhausted! But the best part (not really) of the whole day came as Mike and I left the church. We drove separately seeing as I had to be at the church so early. Just as we were heading out of New Waterford, I was followed by a cop who pulled me over and proceeded to give me a ticket for, get this, a license plate light being out. Everyone I've talked to has been given a warning for this offense. NOT ME! I called the clerk of courts today and a whopping $95.00 later, the ticket will be cleared. Merry Christmas to me! I actually thought it was quite funny. It made the ending of the day interesting to say the least.
Of the whole day, I was most proud of a picture that I myself didn't even take. I handed my camera to my brother at the reception and showed him what to do. I think he did a great job. I absolutely love this picture of my wonderful husband and I. It is a rare occasion that we are both dressed up. I love when Mike wears a suit. There is just something about seeing your hubby all dressed up. *blushing* I wish that Michael would smile when he gets his picture taken. He hardly ever smiles in posed pictures. He is always laughing and being goofing except when it comes to picture taking. Nonetheless, I LOVE this picture! On a side note, my apologies to those who put up with the changing of my template. I was playing around and Kimmy and I have been trying to figure all the changes out. I had a temporary blog set up to play with but deleted it. So I have another one set up and once I have my template the way I like I will change it then. Until then, sorry for the crazy backgrounds and such.
Well I need to work on editing the pictures and start the video work I am also doing for the bride and groom. Hope everyone has a great week.
*The quality of the first few pictures is not real good because I had to resize them for the blog.
