As a sat listening to Betsy last night, I also sat waiting for my friend Tammy. I was pleasantly surprised when she did arrive that she had our friends Bev and Jim tagging along. I have not seen them in such long time. They are such wonderful friends, but they way life is we just do not see each other near as often as any of us would like. It was great. It so happened that I ended up being sandwiched between Bev and Jim and it gave Bev and I the chance to play catch up. It was quite funny though because Jim kept leaning over and asking me questions. His biggest question was if I thought it was rude to talk while someone was performing. My response was that I believed that it depended on the environment. In such a place as where we were, a cafe`, I believe that it is not rude because coffee houses are set up that way. It is relaxed and those that perform in them usually know that to some degree there will be chatting that is going on around them. I think if you are going to talk it should be at a certain level that does not take away from the performer. Well, he kept telling me that he thought it was rude and why he thought so. Now, you have to know Jim. He was not at all saying it in a mean way, he was just expressing his opinion, something he's always doing. I could not keep from laughing because he literally kept going on for like 5 minutes about it and yet the irony was that he was talking...a lot! Then he asked if he could use my computer and ended up surfing E-bay which personally, I thought was more rude than talking (I had the computer closed up). His wife Bev and I just busted up laughing. It was just another Jim-ism, as I call it. I miss them lots and I hope that one day we can all be at a place where we can visit more.
The concert, if you call it that, was actually really good. Betsy is very talented and most of the music she performed was her own. I have an appreciation for performers who do mostly their own stuff. I know that a lot of times performers do their own stuff, but I have heard many artist just be copycats. It's one thing to do worship stuff or hymns, but to do a whole venue of someone else's music is just unoriginal. She was her own and it was good. She did this one song, I believe it was called "Picket Signs", that was really, really good. The message was something that I could really relate to. She also sang a song that she wrote about the coming together and bringing the old and new together in worship. It too, was a song that I could really relate to. It was a great night of fellowship and refueling for my soul. After the music, Tammy was heading back to Dutch Village Inn to finish up some work for the girls retreat they are having. I offered to drop her off since she rode with Bev and Jim and they were wanting to head home. So I dropped Tam off and helped carry a few things in and lo and behold I ran into Sam (and Laura, too). Dummy me, all I was thinking was that it was such a late hour that Sam must have been there helping work on something. Sorry, Sam I know you work at a bank I just wasn't thinking. Laura was there to study and Sam was there just to hang out. Regardless, it was a nice surprise to run into a face I do not see too often. After the very brief encounter I headed home. I came home to find that my husband was super dad all night. I don't know how, but he some how he managed to have Merci asleep in bed by 8:00, cut both his own hair as well as Camden, had Camden in bed, rinsed and stacked all the dishes from dinner to be loaded in the dishwasher, and was chillin' out on the computer. Now, not to toot my own horn, but that is something I might have accomplished, though some days it's harder than others. But I found it a wonderful surprise that he was able to do so much. I am happy that the kids were not as demanding for him as they were for me. They must have gotten it all out of their systems by the time Daddy had them. :0)
I should be putting laundry away, but they laundry that needs to be put away is in the kids' rooms and I do not want to wake them. It is so nice and quiet here. I should run the vacuum, but again, don't want to wake the kido's. So, I guess that means some mommy time. Darn! HA! I've got myself a nice cup of coffee and I think I'm going to just enjoy the silence because I know it will not last. Have a great weekend all.

It was such a cool surprise to see you! That place was crazy with about 800 (alright, it may have been only around 70, but still a lot) teenage girls running around in our usually calm coffehouse. So it was refreshing to see a familiar smiling face!
I have wanted to have a bible study one night a week for women at the cafe..just never have gotten around to ask anybody yet!
I had seen that poster for the artist when I 'd been at lazy bean..but,yes, I forgot about it! oh well!!!
i thought it was cool you ran into so many people...i think it's neat when that happens.
BTW, I forgot to say this layout is much easier to read than your previous one. Nice job.
