I don't know why.
It's just been a long, drawn out day.
I had the privilege of watching my dear friend Amy's beautiful kids today. Her two little ones are close enough in age to my two that they all played together well. I'm so thankful that we live much closer so that I can be a help when needed. I know that she will one day be a help for me when I'm in a pinch.
For whatever reason, after we left Amy's and came home I just became really tired and frustrated for no particular reason. I got the kids lunch and we all laid down for naps. We slept for almost 2 hours and when we all woke up, I was in a funk. Just not myself. I felt even more frustrated and I was just plain irritable. Bless his heart, my brother could sense I was not myself and took me to grab a soda. I seemed to come back around but just felt blah. Tonight after Mike and I and the kids returned from a few errands my brother Ed was waiting outside with the motorcycle and helmets. He asked if I wanted to go for a ride. I have not gone on a motorcycle ride in probably 8 or 9 years. Growing up my Dad had a motorcycle and continued to have one up until he had heart surgery in 2002. My brother seemed to always have a bike also. At one time Ed even had one of those "crotch rocket" (pardon the term) bikes. I hated that bike! Any way, when he asked tonight there was no hesitation. I could not wait to go. So after getting the kids settled and a kiss for my hubby we were off. We took Rt. 344 to Columbiana where Ed took the side streets through town and ended in front of the ENCORE. I swear he read my mind, no kidding! I had been think on our way into town that I should suggest coffee at the ENCORE. As we pulled up I saw a group of people out front from our old church. I think our former pastor was a bit surprised to see it was me when I took the helmet off! Ed and I enjoyed good coffee and good conversation. Afterwards we headed back to Salem via Rt. 14 where Ed saw a shooting star by the moon. I, of course, missed it looking the opposite direction. We took all the back roads coming into town. Neither one of us wanted the ride to end. I could have rode all night. I had forgotten how much I LOVE riding. There is just something about the open air... freedom. I think it was just what I needed. I came home tonight feeling lighter, both physically and emotionally. Thanks Ed.

Well, Mara must have saw the same shooting star!! I told her to look at the line that a plane left and she said, mommy that's a shooting star. I see a shooting star! So who knows for sure! Glad that you had a nice ride. Have a great day!
oohh! I love motorcycles too! Just like you said, the air and the speed and the freedom!
I like riding a horse for much the same reason - although you don't go as fast!
