Ups and Downs

Up and down. Up and down.

I feel as though my emotions have been so up and down. The good thing is it's been more up and than down these past few days.

About mid-week I felt miserable. Like I mentioned I had a headache and backache most of the day on Wednesday. I juggled back and forth the entire afternoon about whether or not to keep my commitment to praise band practice. I decided that it was best to to not go, stay home, take some meds, and take it easy. That is what I did for part of the evening. But as mentioned in my previous post I ended up at the ENCORE. Though my headache had subsided some, my mood had not. I was in a slump for a few day and my hubby could tell I needed a little down time. He was right and I did need a little time recharge so to speak. It was also nice to see some people I know and to be encouraged by a new friend who has prayed for me.

I've been focusing on helping myself the best I can. I have gotten back on all of my vitamins and have been drinking more and more water (I usually drink a lot any way). I have also been trying to do more of the things I enjoy in hopes of boasting my own spirits. We are hoping to work out a way to add in a gym membership so that I can begin working out. And to be honest, it has been helping. I'm not saying that I feel complete again, but I do notice that the changes I've been making seem to be helping. This has been my prayer and that it continues to get better.

My hubby and I had our first date tonight in well over a year. Last summer some time Auntie and Uncle Frank watched both the kids so Mike and I could go to dinner. That was the last time that we went out by ourselves. I enjoy going out as a family, I really really do. But I must say, it was great to have a date...just the two of us. We went to our favorite restarunt, complements of the worlds best aunt and uncle. Afterwards we headed over to Kimmy and Kevin's to play cards with them and their friend Mark. I guess I could have said our friend Mark. We've had the privlege of getting together with Mark at Kimmy and Kevin's before, a few times. We learned how to play Rook which was quite fun. It is much like Euchre mixed with Uno. At least that was my take on it. Lots of fun.

Tomorrow the kids and I are finally going to see my father-in-laws new home. Camden was so excited to today when I told him we were going. I'm looking forward to seeing his cute little house. We stopped by there briefly tonight but he was not home. I did get to see it from the outside and it is perfect for him. I'm really happy for him. Bittersweet.

This coming week is going to be C-R-A-Z-Y! Sunday we are going to my aunt and uncle's church in Columbiana. We were asked to come over for dinner afterwards which I am really excited about. My uncle just turned or is about to turn 72. This is my dad's older brother. We spent most Christmas' at their house growing. They are good people. Sadly, we have not had much time with them in years so I am really looking forward to catching up. They have never even met Merci. :(

Monday we are going to be getting together with family for a picnic. I am sure this will be loads of fun. If I know Auntie like I know I do, there will be lots of good food and fun.

Tuesday we have an appointment in the morning and I need to spend the rest of the day preparing for the arrival of my sister and brother-in-law on Wednesday.

As mentioned my sister Deb and her husband Bill will be in on Wednesday around 2. My brother and I will be driving together to Pittsburgh to pick them up. After picking them up we are meeting those in the family who wish to join us at a local restarunt for dinner.

Thursday is the street fair. 'nough said!

Friday my sister from Indiana is driving in with her husband and two sons. I have not seen my brother-in-law since I was pregnant with Camden. I have not seen my nephew Zach (who is 23) since just after Camden was born. I did see my nephew Ben just briefly last December. My niece Kirstin is also coming with them (this is my brothers oldest daughter that I posted pics of as being my twin). I'm really excited that my entire family will be together. This will be the first time in many, many years that all of us, spouses and all, will be together. The only ones of the grandkids who will not be here are my nephew and his wife from Florida and his sister. And my brothers oldest son. I will be taking lots and lots of pictures. While we are waiting the arrival of those coming from Indiana we are going to have a Euchre night here at my brother's house. There are a lot of us in the family that play and what better way to pass the time!

Because we are all going to be together Deb rented a pavillion at Firestone Park and on Saturday (which is also our anniversary) we are having a giant picnic. Afterwards those who are not totally exhausted will head to the fair.

Yea. My mind is mush just thinking about all of it. Too much to comprehend at one time so it is definatly day by day. It will go by quickly so I am trying not to get too caught up in the anticipation.

Wow, this turned into a much longer post than I thought it would be. It's getting late and I should head to bed. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Until next time...
