So let's see, what's new...
This
past Sunday my sister called me while I was out to lunch with Stef. She said that we need to be praying for my 11 year old niece Bethany who was about to be taken into surgery for an emergency appendectomy. I guess she was sick for a couple of days but they thought it was the flu. Bless her heart, my niece woke my sister up Sunday morning in so much pain. She asked my sister to pray and to please take her to the emergency room. Amazing that such a young lady knows her body enough to know something was not right. She had the surgery late afternoon on Sunday. The Dr.'s said that it was a good thing she had it done when she did. The appendix had begun to rupture. As they were taking it out it then burst once outside of her body. She did end up with a slight infection and had to stay in the hospital an extra day. Thank God for His intervening and keeping her serious situation from becoming life threatening. The kids and I went yesterday to visit for just a bit with Bethany. She looks great and is getting around much better!.............................................................................
Wednesday we had a meeting at the school in which we are going to be sending Camden to this fall. For the past two years or more we have been pursuing homeschooling options. While living in the county we were in, we both were certain that we did not want to send Camden to any of the schools in our district. Since we have moved back to the area in which I grew up, we began praying about other options. Not that I was against the idea of homeschooling. Homeschooling is such a debatable subject, but not for us. I have several nieces and nephews that have been and/or are currently home-schooled. My nephew that got married a couple of years ago was home-school and has had such success in his life. But that is a whole other story. So when we got settled in our new home we prayed about what to do for his schooling. There is a local school district that is just one district over from the one that we live in that has open enrollment. I have spoken to several people who have children in this particular school district and all have been extremely pleased. I also know several teachers and staff members from my time working at the library. So we decided to look into this school first. We met with the principal and took a tour of the school. Just in the 45 minutes we were there I saw 3 teacher I knew and Camden saw 2 of his friends. We also found out that the current art teacher taught Mike's sister in her first few years of teaching! Amazing how life can bring us full circle, huh?!! Bottom line...we are happy! Extremely happy! We love, love, LOVE this school and have such a peace about sending Camden there! They have busing that picks up right at the end of our street which I told is rare for open enrolled students. But I guess they have a few stops in town. But, I feel more comfortable about driving him. It took us 7 minutes to drive him to school. How's that for close?

These are just a couple of pictures that I shot before we left. Camden was so excited and talked about how happy he was to go to school there next year. We also found out that he has 3 friends who will be in kindergarten with him in the fall! We are all so very happy about this schooling choice.

After leaving my sisters yesterday I pulled over and snapped a few pics. I do not know what it is but I have a thing for photographing railroads. I love the endless appearance they give and rugged, rural look they have on the outskirts of our town.

I am going crazy with the need to work on my photography! I want to do some work outside with the kids but the weather hasn't broke enough yet to do so. I am looking forward to a nice sunny day to get some good photos.
I am also going crazy with spring fever and the need to spring clean. I can't wait until it's warm enough to open windows and really clean. Our move was right at the beginning of the yucky weather. Needless to say there were things I would have liked to have done that we were not able to do. I have boxes upon boxes (literally) in both our basement and garage that I need to go through of outgrown kids clothes. I need to decided what I'm getting rid of and do it! I wanted to do that prior to the move but just didn't have the time. I am looking forward to getting that done and out of our way!

Well, I guess I should get myself moving. I have several projects I'd like to tackle today and tonight is Ladies Night with the ladies from church. I have not made it to the last couple so I am looking forward to going tonight. So on that note, until next time friends...TTFN

Dude, Camden looks like such a big boy in those pictures. He looks like a kindergartner!!
See you tonight!
I'm glad your niece is doing good after her surgery!! I'm also glad that you have found a great place for your son to go to school. We are lucky to be in a great school district, so were my kids are going to go to school has not been an issue with us!! I am with you on the homeschooling thing....great for some but NOT for me!!
So glad you niece went to the hospital when she did. Glad she is doing ok.
Finding a school that makes everyone happy is sometimes difficult. so glad you are happy with your choice. Looks like Camden is too.
Great shots of the railroad too. I love those shots too.
I have a "thing" for railroads too! I thought I was weird! LOL!
I am glad everything went well with your niece, that is so scary.
Your little guy looks so cute in those pictures, so glad you found a school you love. I have begun my prayer on that also.
Have a great ladies night.
I'm glad everything is ok with your neice. Poor kiddo!
It's so nice having options, but it's even nicer to make a decision and be happy with it. I bet Camden will do great!
I love pics of RR tracks. They just speak to my soul or something.
